Some highlights from Niamh and Jack’s wedding at Lough Mardal Lodge in Donegal. This was our first time at Lough Mardal - we loved the rustic vibes and the scenery was just incredible. Niamh was such a natural beauty and her dress and veil had Claire swooning. We sprinkled some film photography in throughout the day, which combined with the light, brought some wondeful alchemy. Some favourites from Ciara and Patrick’s wonderful whirlwind of a wedding at The Chocolate Factory in Dublin. You never know what’s going to happen when there are little ones involved in the heart of day. It’s usually a little bit chaotic, but it is always magic, and brings photographs alive.
We loved the industrial feel of the Chocolate Factory. You could decorate this venue any way you like - and the guys did a beautiful job - but there’s also something great about it just as it is. We adore the main room in Dublin City Hall too - partly because it’s gorgeous and partly because know we’re in for a dander through Dublin streets to the next venue.
This wedding was so full of creative energy, craic and joy. Weddings don’t have a script. Each day unfolds itself in its own unique way and C&P gave me full license to try to catch as much as possible as a documentary wedding photographer. I love it when couples trust me enough to just do my thing. And it’s always such a privilege to be there to tell their story with my camera.
